Walter De Brouwer holds a PhD in computational linguistics and has established multiple AI companies, four of which have undergone public offerings.
He presently serves as a General Partner at Emerald.plus, part of Claritas Capital, a PE fund worth $1 billion that finances web3 firms in the Media and Entertainment sector. Some examples of investments include Matchday.com, which features "casual football games for 5 billion fans" in collaboration with Lionel Messi and FIFA, Snowcrash.com, which offers "on-chain offerings from big catalogs" in partnership with Sony and Universal, and Moviepass, the "largest theater network in America" in collaboration with Stacy Spikes and Animoca Brands.
Additionally, he acts as an adjunct professor at Stanford University and has designed a course called "BAM- Introduction to Blockchain, AI and Metaverse for the Media and Entertainment industry," which is informally dubbed "So Long and Thanks for all the Fish." The pilot course will be held at the NYU Stern School of Business this month. He is an active contributor and beta tester of various Generative AI, LLMs, and foundation models. Recently, he launched one of the earliest global hospitality agents based on ChatGPT 3.5 at the Forbes Travel Guide Conference in Vegas on March 1.
WDB is currently working on a new comprehensive format for large entertainment brands in Sports, Music, and Content publishing concerned about brand safety, in collaboration with Polygon Technology, called "the invisible walled garden." The project will feature NFTs with Generative AI, multimodal LLMs, phygital offerings, on-chain streaming solutions and zkEVM. The project is slated to be production-ready in May 2023.
